The Southern Argentina Agile MEteor Radar (SAAMER), located at southern midlatitudes (54°S), is specifically designed to measure mesosphere/lower thermosphere (MLT) gravity wave momentum flux, and has been providing near-continuous measurements since May 2008. Taking advantage of 8 years of observations, the multi-year MLT gravity wave momentum flux is presented and discussed in light of lower atmospheric gravity wave filtering and wave breaking.
