ADAPT seminar 3

Speaker: Dr. Alfonso Mejia (Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering)
Topic: "Hydrologic modeling: Flood forecasting as a case study"
Room: 529 Walker Building
Time: Mon May 11, 2015 03:30pm to 04:30pm
Abstract: This talk will describe current hydrologic and hydraulic modeling efforts in the Department of Civil Engineering. I will then use flood forecasting as a case study to illustrate the application of hydrologic models. For this, I will describe a flood forecasting research project we are currently working on and I will present our key findings to date. The goal is to provide an overview of how numerical weather predictions and hydrologic-hydraulic modeling are being used in flood forecasting operations and suggest some areas for future research.
