The SPARC symposium is a continuation of a series of successful similar GW meetings lead-organized by Kevin, Joan, Kaoru and others over the past couple of decades. The tentative title of 2016 SPARC symposium will be “Atmospheric gravity waves: sources, and effects on weather and climate”. Research on all aspects of atmospheric gravity waves will be welcomed but some particular emphases will be given to the dynamics and sources of gravity waves in the troposphere including but not limited to convection, jet/fronts, and orography.

The symposium will be held in the week of May 16-20, 2016 at Pennsylvania State University.
